DANIEL W J MACKENZIE & RICHARD A INGRAM

HALF DEATH

Daniel W J Mackenzie (Ekca Liena, Plurals) and Richard A Ingram (Oceansize, Biffy Clyro) came together to record a beautiful dark album, full of electronic, ambient and modern classic sounds that form the debut collaboration called Half Death. It´s a very intimate journey that grabs your intention from the first track until the end.

“Half Death” is a sci-fi spiked soundtrack to a theoretical film that came to exist after the two musicians paired up, working together from remote locations. Via this two year process of audio exchange, the album came into being, depicting largely dark and malevolent themes of dystopia and paranoia. The sonic narrative follows a dynamic path through noisy synthesiser peaks, quiet piano explorations and woozy processed field recordings, carving a restless and unpredictable journey.

We are always interested in collaborations, not only because people are coming together to join forces on something they love. Collaborations always bring new aspects to the signature sounds of artist. “Half Death” is no exception. You can hear the contrast coming together and forming a massive fusion of electronic and classic sounds.

“Half Death” comes in en edition of 200 copies, with a beautiful black and white artwork, featuring photographies by Daisy Rickmann. The CD is housed in a 4panel reverse board printed digisleeve with matte finish.
