FRA ZEDDE
We are honoured to present “Dwell” by Fra Zedde to you. Francesco Zedde is an Italian multi-instrumentalist, who recorded an album back in 2020, when the pandemic started. It´s always impressive to see, how creativity works in certain situations.
So now, some years later, without all those pandemic emotions in focus, we can listen to an album, consisting of nine epic tracks, moving between fragile soundscapes and forcefully melodies. There is no need, to make a reference to the pandemic. The music speaks for itself. The tracks have space to evolve and the sounds are building up gently. “Dwell” is an outstanding work in the discography of Franceso Zedde and we are very proud to have this album in our catalogue.
“Dwell” comes in a limited edition of 50 copies. 25 copies on transparent red tapes and 25 copies clear transparent tapes. Housed in o-card sleeves with a beautiful mysterious artwork by Cris Mollee.

The recording happened with an immersive session of one week in a 10 square meters room I was living and sleeping in Bologna during the beginning of the Italian lockdown in mid March 2020, guitar loops have been layered for days and kept on playing along, some hours to entire nights could have passed between each overdub.
The first approach to this record was a personal reaction to the sudden shift from a nomad life on tour, to a steady house living, the unannounced prelude to a long period of uncertainty and frustration can only move melancholy. Each title track is a quote, associated with a past experience, associated with a place no longer reachable.
Started as a mere performing experiment and opened a wide refection across the process of creating an endearment towards a physical place, a mental environment to fll up with a fow of complaints determining a safe space for the acceptance of unwanted feelings. Together with the settling of new habits and a peaceful resignation, a consistent amount of audio material has been reshaped and mixed to fnally take the shape of an album in the following winter.
