NAHAL KAVAND
We are very proud to introduce you to a new Midira Records artist from Iran.
Nahal Kavand is a multidisciplinary sound artist based in Tehran. She uses field recordings and ambient sounds to create thin layered but powerful soundscapes, by using heavy sound processing techniques.
Her debut album “There” features some very compelling pieces. Sometimes focussing on field recordings, sometimes focussing on ambient sounds, always with a very concentrated and unagitated approach, that gives “There” its discrete aura.
If you listen carefully, you will calm down immediately, cause the album draws your attention. Nahal has something to tell you and if you listen, her sounds will engage you.
