SHAHIN SOURI
Shahin Souri is a musician and sound artist based in Tehran. His compositions explore the balance between electronic and acoustic sounds. “Liminal Space” is his third album, featuring seven intimate fragile tracks, wavering and floating, building gently structures and soundscapes.
An impressive album, able to grab for attention without being intrusive. It´s all those floating sounds and electronic bleeps, forming a beautiful structure.

This body of work can be attributed to my utilization of sound as a sculptural material, resisting on the precipice of the hope and despair, recorded between 2022 and 2023.
Improvisations guided by thematic research, controlled experimentation and intuition while working with synthesis, sampling, acoustics and field recording/processing technology.
“Liminal Space” is the result of going back and forth on the border of hope and despair. A few days after this album was finished, a revolutionary movement was formed in Iran (woman.life.freedom). I proudly dedicate this album to all those who bravely fight in the streets on the way to freedom.
