LAST DAYS OF LIVING

AUVERS-SUR-OISE

Last Days of Living is the project of trans-Atlantic duo Simon Keep from Suffolk (UK) and Phillip Andrew Lewis from Pittsburgh (US). Working with sonic imagery and cinematic textures they manipulate sound using treated guitars, pianos, synthesizers, electronics, tape loops, and field recordings.

On “Auvers-Sur-Oise” you will find eight poignant floating tracks, some more ambient, some more drone, but all in all touching soundscapes. The artwork by Kevin Cooley perpetuates the music in an image. While listening to the album, you can get a feeling of weightlessness, at least that is what happened to us, after listening to the tracks.

“Auvers-Sur-Oise” comes in a very limited edition of 100 copies. The CD is housed in a gatefold four panel sleeve, featuring the stunning artwork based on the image of Kevin Cooley.

Last Days Of Living about the album

“Auvers-Sur-Oise” was recorded and processed during the pandemic as an escape into a fragmented space washed with blurs of light and shadow. Working remotely during lockdown from separate countries, members of Last Days Of Living gathered weekly for over a year to compose the music on this ambient drone album. The tracks render a new psychological place with visions and apparitions. Using old reel to reel tape machines to record and process the sound, the recording itself is aging and fragile.
