With this release we want to bring you a collection of fine drone and ambient tracks from Germany. As you might already be familiar with the band on side A, side B maybe could be new to you. But lets start from the beginning.

Side A contains three new tracks by [ B O L T ], who are currently in the studio, recording their next full length album as a trio with Maik from Kodiak. That circumstance makes this release also very special, cause this might be the last [ B O L T ] output as a duo. The tracks evolve within 20 minutes playtime into massive soundwalls, build by two bass guitars. Compared to previous released material those tracks have a very homogeneous structure and surprisingly one track has also a real name, caused to it´s function. A drone tale, with quiet and loud parts that will embrace you.

Side B features two tracks by Growth from Berlin. If you are familiar with not so ambient drone guitar music, you might know him as guitarist of Sun Worship. Growth concentrates on ambient and drone sounds made by guitar and has a big focus on floating sounds. This is what the Inverted Horizon tracks on side B are all about. Diving into a wave of ambient sounds and swimming through drones and noise, just to breach safely back to the shore.

Finding a fitting body for this music document, was a little bit challenging, but we finally came up with this: Clear transparent Tapes with black reels, black thick cardboard sleeves with die-cutted windows to give you a look at the artwork, which is printed on magic chrome cardboard, that makes the inlay card looks metallic.

The Tape is limited to 50 copies and comes with a download code.

Release date: 08.10.2016 (By the way, it´s Cassette Store Day)
Preorder starts: 22.09.2016 / 20:00 (german time)

After releasing three albums on CD (check our Summer Sale below) we thought it would be nice to concentrate on analog mediums again and so we decided to focus on tape and vinyl releases. You can check our Releases page to get a sneak preview of what we will release in the next months.

ninemiles_bogatzke_split-tape MIDIRAOur first tape release is already done and ready to be shipped: ninemiles & Bogatzke are sharing a red tape, that is limited to 20 pieces.

Both artists are from Germany and both of them share the love for experimental music. We already released “Grímsey”, the debut of ninemiles, which is full of dizzying electronic sounds. You can read some nice words over at Unruhr and coolibri.

On this tape ninemiles moves further on the experimental path of electronic music. His tracks are full of new sound ideas and strangly consuming melodies. A perfect addendum to his debut album.

Bogatzke focusses more on experimental sounds housed in a post-rock-jacket. He loves catchy melodies and atmospheric soundscapes and that is what makes his music deeply positive.

While ninemiles is using the rhythm of his sounds to create a beat, Bogatzke brings out real electronic drums to support his sounds. There is always something in the craft of both artists that can be compared in an abstract way. This is what makes this split release so special. There is this small path between contrast and equality that brings the sounds of ninemiles & Bogatzke together.

All 20 tapes, including a feather, are handcrafted by the artists and the artwork was made by the nice guys over at Hummelgrafik. Grab your copy here
